Hi! I’m Gus, and I write this blog. The perspectives presented here and their associated content are expressly my own.
In my current role, I work with developers to enable the Google+ social platform. Here you can see a picture of me talking about the importance of social media to a group of CS graduate students at UCSB:
Later in that talk, with the help of some CS professors in front, I hobbled through a live coding demo showing an OAuth2 flow in JavaScript. I consider myself a programmer, but I’m humbled by the amazing developers that I have learned alongside and encounter every day. I love talking to developers, helping people build products, and diagnosing bugs while large systems are being designed and updated.
I did a brief stint as a developer at an internet startup in Seattle where I programmed web mail systems in Java and front-ends in the then nascent JavaScript. I later worked on developer content and content experience for Microsoft.
Outside of work, I snowboard, DJ, rock climb, and play the occasional video game.
You can find out more about me on my website, gusclass.com.
Hi Gus
I am working on a project that will require us to have a google+ share button or a interactive post button on our website.
What I want to do is to get the activity id from the response when the user clicks on the share button.
e.g. A user on my site shares a link using the google+ share button.
When i look at the HTTPS response using Fiddler, it returns the activity id somewhere in json string as z1324hdsfgjhfg….. This same id is there in the user’s post on google+ page that is generated somewhere in the div tag.
Are there any reasons why the share button doesn’t have a response yet and activity id?
Yes, please feel free to add to your comment or ask the question on stack overflow:

Hey Guss,
Could you look at this stackoverflow question I’ve created and point me in a good direction?
